165,000 Inclined Sleeper Cribs Recalled Due to Suffocation Risk, Infant Deaths

5.5 Million Sleeper Cribs Recalled Since April 2019
Inclined sleeper cribs have been linked to at least 73 infant deaths, hundreds of injuries, and nearly a dozen different product recalls. The latest recalls, issued at the end of January 2020, target about 165,000 inclined sleepers made by four major crib manufacturers, including:
- Graco
- Summer Infant
- Delta Children
- Evenflo
These companies now join Fisher-Price, Kids II, and others in urging caregivers to stop using the recalled inclined sleepers. Here’s why and what you need to know if you’re a caregiver or parent of an infant.
Why Are Inclined Cribs Dangerous & Why Have They Been Recalled?
The dangers of inclined cribs lie in their design and features, both of which can increase the risk of suffocation. In fact, experts—including pediatricians with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)—have pointed out that:
- The inclined sleeper design goes against long-standing guidelines for safe infant sleeping: Infants should lie flat on their backs for sleeping, according to the AAP. The inclined position can cause necks to roll into risky positions, possibly cutting off infants’ airways and hindering breathing.
- The recalled sleepers create other suffocation risks: Features like loose restraints, steep sides, attached pillow headrests, and extra padding can make it easier for babies to roll over, get pressed up against the side of sleepers, and suffocate.
These dangers have triggered the recall of more than 5.5 million inclined sleeper cribs in the U.S. since April 2019. This includes:
- About 4.7 million Rock ‘n Play Sleeper cribs recalled by Fisher-Price
- Nearly 700,000 Rocking Sleeper cribs recalled by Kids II

Here’s a closer look at the four inclined sleeper recalls issued on January 29, 2020.
Graco Recalls 111,000 Inclined Sleeper Cribs
Graco has recalled about 111,000 inclined cribs sold from 2013 through 2018 under the name “Little Lounger Rocking Seat” (recall no: 20-062). This Graco inclined sleeper recall impacts units with the following model numbers:
- 1872034
- 1875063
- 1875102
- 1877160
- 1882081
- 1896313
- 1908957
- 1914283
- 2047734
- 1922809
Look for the model number on the label affixed to one of the crib’s metal legs. Graco is offering consumers a refund of $80 for these recalled cribs. If your infant has not been hurt by a Graco inclined sleeper and you would like to find out more about how to get your refund:

Summer Infant Recalls 46,300 Inclined Sleeper Cribs
The SwaddleMe By Your Bed Sleeper, made by Summer Infant and sold from March 2017 through December 2019, has also been pulled from the U.S. market (recall no: 20-059). This inclined sleeper recall affects about 46,300 units with model number 91394. You can locate the model number on the crossbar tube of the frame, positioned between the two upright tubes.

Delta Enterprise Corp. Recalls 5,600 Inclined Sleepers
The Delta Children inclined crib recall (recall no: 20-061) affects sleepers sold from January 2017 through December 2018, under brand names that include (and are not limited to):
- Beautyrest Beginnings Incline Sleeper with Adjustable Feeding Position for Newborns
- Disney Baby Minnie Mouse Incline Sleeper with Adjustable Feeding Position for Newborns
- Delta Children Deluxe 3-in-1 Activity Rocker, Feeder and Sleeper
- Simmons Kids Beautyrest Deluxe 3-in-1 Activity Rocker, Feeder, and Sleeper
- 3-in-1 Activity Rocker, Feeder and Incline Sleeper
The model numbers for these recalled inclined cribs are 27404-2255, 27404-437, 27404-758, and 27404-942. Like Graco, Delta Children is offering consumers refunds for these recalled products.

Evenflo Recalls 3,100 Inclined Sleepers
The Pillo Portable Napper, made by Evenflo, is yet another inclined sleeper pulled off the market in January 2020 (recall no: 20-060). The 3,100 units targeted by this recall:
- Were sold from May 2017 through January 2020 by Amazon, Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, and others
- Have the model number 12132125 on the label affixed to the leg of the crib
