Essay and video submissions should reflect how the student has demonstrated this core value through advocacy, service, or leadership.

Applicant Guidelines

Before submitting your essay OR video for review, please read the following application rules:

  1. Applicants must be currently enrolled and attending a public high school in Fort Bend ISD or Lamar Consolidated ISD.
  2. Applicants must be in their senior year of high school and planning to attend a college or university full-time for the upcoming academic year.
  3. Applicants must be in good academic standing at their current institution.
  4. Applicants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian before submitting an application.

Essay Requirements

Students who choose to submit an essay must follow these guidelines:

  1. Essays should be between 3–5 pages in length.
  2. The applicant’s full name must appear in the top-left corner of the document header.
  3. Essays must follow these formatting requirements:
    • Font: Times New Roman
    • Font Size: 12 point
    • Spacing: Single spaced
    • Alignment: Justified
  4. Submissions must be saved as one of the following file types:
    • .doc
    • .docx
    • .txt
    • .pdf

Video Requirements

Applicants may choose to submit a video instead of or in addition to an essay.

Video submissions must meet the following criteria:

  1. The video must address the current scholarship topic and theme.
  2. The video must be hosted on YouTube or Vimeo.
  3. Videos must be no longer than five minutes.
  4. Privacy sharing settings are encouraged so applicants can control how their videos are viewed.

About the 2026 Amaro Law Firm Scholarship

Each year, Amaro Law Firm awards two $2,500 scholarships (totaling $5,000) to deserving students from Fort Bend ISD and Lamar Consolidated ISD.

We created this annual scholarship to support local students who are ready to pursue higher education but may need additional financial support to help get there. Education creates opportunity, and we believe investing in motivated students is an investment in the future of our community.

The recipients of the 2026 Amaro Law Firm Scholarship will be honored during a special reception scheduled for July 24, 2026 at Constellation Field, home of the Sugar Land Space Cowboys.
