Mr. Wooten’s recent jury trials have focused on complex consumer litigation against mortgage servicers. During his career, Mr. Wooten has tried hundreds of jury trials covering everything from criminal cases to simple personal injury claims and the most complex and challenging civil matters. Mr. Wooten also has extensive experience litigating in Bankruptcy courts across the nation. This includes representing debtors in claims brought during consumer bankruptcy cases as well as representing creditors in numerous Chapter 11 proceedings in multiple jurisdictions. Mr. Wooten is also an accomplished and experienced litigator in Federal Courts around the nation.

Mr. Wooten’s deep, varied, and intellectually stimulating practice has made him a highly sought-after lecturer and teacher of litigation skills and complex litigation subject matter for numerous Bar associations and organizations charged with providing continuing legal education to the judiciary including the Federal Judicial College and the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. During his career in litigation, Mr. Wooten has established a reputation as a creative thinker who is willing to pioneer new claims and causes of action. He has the willingness and the ability to challenge bad precedent and expand good precedent. Mr. Wooten has a track record of success in appellate practice in addition to his excellent reputation as a preeminent trial lawyer. Mr. Wooten has also worked extensively in collaborative efforts in national litigation projects as both a member and leader of litigation efforts in mass torts and class actions. Mr. Wooten has extensive, quality relationships with many members of the plaintiffs’ Bar nationally as well as numerous connections with subject matter experts in all fields of civil litigation developed over his twenty-plus-year career.

In addition to his expertise in litigation, as various times during his legal career, Mr. Wooten has served as a consultant to hedge funds and institutional investors in areas of his subject matter expertise. He has also served as counsel for a number of small private corporations involved in structured finance, complex real estate, and renewable energy transactions. Mr. Wooten’s consulting work created a network of personal relationships in finance with several market movers in complex and structured finance as well as hedge funds, family offices, and institutional investors.
