Sleepy driver causes major car wreck

In 2019, after the Houston Rodeo, our client was a backseat passenger in her friend’s vehicle. As they were headed home, another driver ran a red light and hit our client’s car going very fast.

The impact threw our client’s head against the clothing hanger in the car, causing a huge laceration from her left eyebrow to her forehead. Our client also suffered from severe neck and back pain after the auto collision. She needed a fusion surgery for her neck and her lower back. Our client was referred to the injury lawyers at the Amaro Law Firm because she needed help fighting the insurance companies and getting proper treatment for her personal injuries.

Our client’s two friends in the vehicle were injured, but not nearly as seriously as our client. The driver who caused the car wreck carried a large insurance policy, and our injury attorneys fought to make sure our client received a settlement she deserved.

Our car wreck attorney team attempted to mediate the case prior to filing suit, but were unable to reach a settlement at the first mediation. Once our attorneys filed a lawsuit, we were able to discover that the other driver had been traveling since 2 AM the day before the collision and was leaving the airport when the car wreck happened.

Our attorneys set up a second mediation and were able to negotiate a confidential settlement for our client. After the settlement with the at-fault driver, our injury attorneys did not stop. We were able to reach policy limits settlements with our client’s own underinsured motorist coverage and her friend’s underinsured motorist coverage.
