Trucking v Motorcycle Wrongful Death Settlement

Our client’s father was an experienced motorcyclist who was killed in a hit and run incident with a full sized 18 wheeler.  The police report put fault on our client and the Defendants denied liability until the night before trial.   The billion dollar defendants were represented by 3 law firms including a former Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court.  We proved the police report to be wrong and got our clients closure, justice, and peace from this preventable tragedy.   The trucking company was delivering cargo for a billion dollar company that is well known in Texas.   In litigation, we discovered the truck driver had a long history of sleep disorders, wrecks, tickets, failed training, a failed physical, and that the trucking company negligently hired, supervised, and retained him despite their knowledge.  We also discovered they intentionally permitted critical black box data to be destroyed off the truck.  The court entered a spoliation order about the deleted data to sanction the companies for their wrongful conduct.
