Parking Lot Death

In January 2017, our client lost her husband in a tragically preventable parking lot accident.  Our client walked to a local shopping center to get a loaf of bread from his family’s favorite bakery one evening and never came home.

A tow truck driver was parked in the shopping center’s lot with no reasonable business purpose, and did not see our client’s husband in the poorly lit parking lot.  Since the owners of the shopping center did not have appropriate safety measures for pedestrians, the tow truck driver’s inattention in unsafe lighting conditions contributed to the tow truck driver suddenly running over our client and killing him.

The Amaro Law Firm attained a full policy limits settlement from the tow truck company and fought for our client’s family to prove that the owner of the shopping center knew that the parking lot was unsafe and chose not to do anything about it to make it safe for pedestrians.  Our firm was able to negotiate a confidential settlement for our client’s family to recognize their tragic loss.
