About Alexis Katz
A native of Houston, Alexis Katz earned her Bachelor of Arts in Government with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin and her Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center, where she received an academic scholarship. She also studied internationally in the Czech Republic.
Alexis spent the first 17 years of her legal career representing businesses and insureds in litigation involving general liability, commercial, insurance, and product liability matters. She began her career at a boutique business litigation firm in Dallas before moving to Louisiana, where she obtained her Louisiana law license and spent five years in defense practice. She later returned to Houston and continued her work in litigation defense.
That experience gives Alexis a valuable perspective in her work representing people who have been seriously injured by negligent behavior. Having spent years evaluating and defending claims, she understands how insurance companies and defense teams approach litigation, from evaluating a claim to developing case strategy. At Amaro Law Firm, she draws on that experience to anticipate defense strategies, prepare cases thoroughly, and advocate effectively for her clients.
Outside of her legal practice, Alexis is a mother of two young children. She enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, spending time outdoors, and visiting family in South Africa.
