Hit-and-Run Suspect Surrendered for Copperas Cove Hit-and-RunJanuary 4, 2022
A suspect of a hit-and-run collision in Copperas Cove, Texas, surrendered to the police three days following the incident. The man, Estevan Segura, gave himself up to the Copperas Cove Police Department for his involvement in the incident. The hit-and-which occurred on Saturday, October 16th, 2021, took place between the FM 116 and US Highway 190 just after 9:00 p.m.
Two vehicles were involved in the accident, a Ford Econoline with Segura behind the wheels and a Honda CRV. The accident occurred when Segura failed to yield the right way while heading south on an intersection, causing the Honda CRV driver, who was heading north, to be hit by Segura’s vehicle. As a result of the crash, the Honda CRV driver was grievously injured and needed to be evacuated by a helicopter to the nearest hospital. Segura fled the scene before authorities arrived and did not provide aid to the injured Honda CRV driver.
It is not yet revealed by the authorities if Segura would be facing charges for his actions since the Honda CRV driver survived the crash.
