Driver Injured in Semi-Trailer and Pickup Truck Collision

Yet another pickup truck and semi-trailer collision happened this month in Texas. The newest incident happened in Houston, Texas on Thursday, May 14th, 2021. The Aransas Fire Department was one of the first responders at the scene. The incident took place at about early morning on Highway 35 near Moore Road. A pickup truck that was carrying a boat hit the semi-truck. It was only occupied by the driver. The impact of the collision led the container’s cargo to spill all over the highway, which in this case, happened to be beer.

The driver of the semi-trailer seemed to be unharmed. The same cannot be said of the pickup truck driver, who was pinned between the vehicles. Luckily, the firefighters managed to extricate him from the wreckage. The driver is currently receiving treatment at the nearest hospital. Several lanes of Highway 35 were closed while cleanup was underway. Authorities are still looking into what may have caused the incident to transpire.

Can Injured Drivers File A Claim After A Car Crash?

If you happen to find yourself injured following a car crash, you may be wondering – can I file a claim? In general, the answer is yes – but what type of claim and who to file it against may differ depending on your car crash situation. For example, if you happen to be injured in a single-vehicle crash, you should submit a claim to your own auto insurance. But whether this is a viable option for you will be determined by your auto insurance coverage. The approach would be different if you were injured by another party. You may be able to file a claim against them directly or to their auto insurance provider.
