A severe crash took place in Panola County, Texas. The accident happened on Friday, June 11th, at about 7:30 a.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 2517. The Texas Department of Public Safety was the first responder at the scene.

There were two vehicles involved in the crash, a Volvo and a Chevrolet pickup. It seemed that both vehicles were heading in a different direction despite operating in the same lane. The Volvo was hit by the Chevrolet, which was heading west. Both vehicles were occupied only by the drivers.

The Volvo had a 67-year-old man from Deberry, while the Chevrolet had a 58-year-old man. Both drivers had severe injuries, but the Chevrolet driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Volvo driver survived and is receiving treatment at the nearest hospital. Authorities are still investigating the case.

If the Driver Who Caused Your Crash Died, Can You Still File a Claim Against Them?

If you happen to be involved in a crash where the at-fault driver died while you, their victim, survived, it may comfort you to know that you can still file a claim against them for the deceased driver’s actions. Of course, you can’t file the claim directly against the deceased driver – you can file them against the deceased’s estates. Whoever will be the beneficiary of said estates would have to deal with your claim. It is best that you consult a lawyer beforehand if you plan to pursue this legal action.
