17-Year-Old Facing Charges After DUI Crash Led to Three Deaths

On Sunday, September 26th, 2021, a two-vehicle collision was reported in San Antonio, Texas. The incident transpired at about 1:30 a.m. between Culebra Road and Loop 1604.

It was not specified what the models of the vehicles involved were. However, one vehicle had only the driver inside, a 17-year-old man, while the other vehicle was carrying three passengers (a 69-year-old man, an 84-year-old woman, and an unidentified woman) with a 27-year-old man behind the wheels. The man happened to be an officer of the West Texas Police Department.

The collision occurred at an intersection of Culebra. The police officer and his family were hit by the 17-year-old driver when another vehicle suddenly ran over the red light. An initial investigation found that the driver was driving above the speed limits, and later investigation found that the driver was also driving under the influence of alcohol. He is facing multiple criminal charges for the incident, since three people, including the West Texan police officer, died in the crash.
